Was driving my truck today, when my tranny went to shift into 3rd gear, the Rpm shot up and it quit pulling in all gears including reverse. Luckily I was able to coast into my driveway from the road( how often ones that happen). I was accelerating at normal speed when this happened. I started the motor and noticed that my fluid didnt godown on the dipstick so I was assuming the pump just quit. Is that how they go out? I figured that when a pump wore out, I would be gradual in nature until t quit working properly. Or did something break? It didn't make Any noise when this happened. When I restarted it to check the oil level, it was making some clunking or grinding noises the longer it ran so I cut it off immediately. Did it ruin my convertor as well possibly? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
