Default 4l70 compatibility???

My 4L60E is starting to show signs of a pending failure and I found a low mileage 4L70E for cheap. I couldn't find any information about the ability to swap it in place of a 4L60E. I know the only difference in the wire harness is the ISS but does this prevent it from being a direct bolt in?

The TCM isn't in the transmission, in the 6l80e the TCM is in the transmission. The 4l70 has the TCM next to the PCM.
