Default 4L80 on 4.3??

i have an 01 Sierra RCSB 4.3 5spd and well i want to upgrade to a V8 later on, but right now i want to get rid of the 5spd. will the 4L80 work well with the 4.3? what stall would be good for the converter for now?

It'll be like you're taking off in 2nd gear all the time . . . it's a really tall 1st gear. You're going to need a
cooler,
trans mount, (cross member)
steering column,
linkages,
wiring harness,
different yoke.
and a reprogram to make it work

Why go to an 80e? Do you plan on making more than 500 rwhp? A 4L60/65e with the right internal mods would be sufficient otherwise.

L92,LQ9,LQ4,LS2,408
