Don't know what size truck you got but I have a RCSB and I love my 4l80e! Paired with a stall, I never suffured a lose in power due to the added wieght. It was cheaper for me to buy a 4l80e core, a stall AND get it rebuilt than to build my 4l60e to the same power levels.
People still break built 4l60's . 4l80's don't break

How much larger is the 4L80E than a 4L60E? is it only slightly larger or quite a bit larger?,...I ask because I was wanting to do a set of long tube headers from Current Performance, wondering if they would still clear with an 80

U will have parsitic power loss tho...never did the actual #'s, but generally expect anywhere like 75+/-rwhp. Thats the trade-off for durability and why if ur headed for ~450rwhp its a push. U have to by a conversion kit (SpeedEng or other) for about $1200 (?), and ull need the stock programming for the 4L80 at a min. R/
