Default 4L80 + Drop = CUT DSHAFT?

If u did the 60-80E conversion then drop the truck 2" would that imply needing to shorten D-Shaft? Mine is REALLY tight and had to pry it off even with the truck on a lift. No play left in the yokes. It seems to be getting bind in the rr end and fried a bearing...pinion angle doesnt look much changed as all I did was a 2" shorter DJM spring, along with shock extensions and trailing arms...

Please tell us you didn't drive it too far! There needs to be about 1"" of play at the slide in yoke end.

I'll answer for him - it's the rear.

Okay then, your pinion angle should be fine, but your driveline definately must be shortened. If you've been driving it this way, there may be damage to the transfer case, so be sure to check that while the driveline is out for the repair.

Front is all good. Didnt do more than 20 miles like it is. Just had the rear seal on the Transfer case replaced, and now I guess I'm gonna have the d-shaft shortened while the bearing gets replaced!!! Man its like a cascade...get the blower & pulley's fixed and now the driveline is fucked...

Well...decided to take off the trailing arm extension brackets first to see how much play I gain back. Then, we'll see if I fucked the d-shaft from driving it all bound up. If its all good, then I'm gonna leave it like it is. If its wracked at all, then I'll have it cut down, put the extensions back on and hope its the last major repair for a while!

If you don't have at least 1"" of clearance where the yoke slides into the tailshaft, or transfer case, you're gonna **** something up!! Remember to put some white grease on the inside splines of the yoke before you slide it in, too.

If its a 2 piece DS you might get away with trimming the slip yoke a bit. A friend of mine had a 2 piece DS and he had to trim his turbo 400 long slip yoke 5/8" for clearance on the 80e. Luckily for mine the turbo 400 long slip yoke needed no trimming on my 1 piece DS.
