Default 4l80 guys, what rear ratio do you run?

I have a RCSB,4l80, 5.3,btr stg 3 cam, bolt ons, 4000 stall. Currently have 3.42 rear. Truck will have heads, fast intake, and possibly more cam for the heads in spring. What do you guys run in the rear? I was debating 3.73,3.90,4.10.

i would say at least a 4.10... that 80e is long legged as hell in 1st gear. I Hated the 80e gearing compared to the 60e myself.

I hear this allot. You're right. I haven't gotten my 4l80e swap on the road but did my best to get a higher stalling converter to get it off the line a little quicker. I'll live with the taller 1st if it means more reliability in the end.

In my case i had 3.23's in my turbo silverado with the 4l60e... did an 80e swap with same stall speed converter(3600 circleD) and i had to go to some 4.10s to get it to come close to the same 60' and 330' times at the track.

Street and strip.I drive it everyday, but it's only a few miles to work. First gear shifts at 62, second at 90 ish. The 4000 stall helps, but I believe more gear, and then eventually more top end power with future mods are why I'm leaning to 4.10s. The rev limit will be raised accordingly. The people I'm working with want to push the 5.3 as far as we can with "normal" parts changes aka off the shelf.

My old truck had 3.73s, wasn't enough. Current truck, going with 4.10s. Wanted 4.30s, but wasn't willing to pay over $100 more for a ring and pinion. Depends on your tire height too, I am running 31" tall tires.

First is long, but I like the 1-2 shift much better. It's worth the swap for that alone. When I first installed the cam we did not raise shift points at first and second gear sucked for the first 500 rpm.

I have 29" tall tires which would be 4.30s in your truck. 4.10s it is lol.
