Default 4l80 lockup w/ FI

People with 4l80's and FI. Do you/can you have the TC lock once you get going and stay locked through the shifts and never unlock unless you brake or go slow. I don't like how much the TC soaks up power in my 4l65 and was wondering if besides having shifts that feel right, will the 4l80 also allow me to stay locked up as much as possible

I was hoping by gaining that extra 50lbs of metal it would make the internals take the shock.

I don't think I've ever hated automatics before until I got power and can feel the stupid TC soak it all up

Give a call to CircleD, they have a StageIII billet converter that they "dare you to break"...not sure if they do 80E converters or not, but it couldn't hurt to ask

The converter isn't an issue in my opinion... I dont thing the input shaft is going to like it much....

I hear FLT has a new billet input shaft for the 4l65... wonder if that would stand up with a locked tc.

Sure the 4L80E is stout but I wouldn't suggest it. When I swapped mine in I got the PWM wire pinned in place of the TCC on/off wire and it was locking up at 8 mph regaurdless of gear, TPS, speed and so on. It was simply brutal and even light throttle.
