I've always been told stock 80's were unbreakable, guess they were wrong.

2 years of my heavy right foot, track 2 times a week, street racing every Friday night, probably 60 passes, 1.6 60' foot, 4600 lbs, and 700 rwhp on 1 4L60e is pretty good to me. Especially on a stock output shaft. And I only had $400 bucks in it!!!!! Sounds like I got my money out of that trans.

If the TQ converter crumbles into pieces it don't matter how strong the trans is.

No, Just find a REAL builder who knows what they are doing. Most trans shops screw people and don't put in what they say they are.
