Default The 4l80 Stock Rebuild

Looking to get a parts list, prices too, of what it takes to rebuild a 4l80 to stockish form.

No hard parts, just the clutches and other serviceable stuff.

I plan on picking up a 80 in the next couple weeks that is known to have bad clutches, just wondering what I am getting into. Plan on doing a shift kit, and then I assume a stock rebuild would be fine for 500-600hp

Nope. I'll dog around and find you a good 'rebuild kit'

I had a similar thread a few years ago...

I just rebuilt my 4l80e with ~100k miles on it, on teardown some of the clutches were damaged so I just re clutched the whole thing, had a box of gm clutches and trans parts laying around. These transmissions hold up well to wear, I didn't even replace the bands, only the clutches and my torque converter o ring was squared off. Put together with transgo kit and is holding up to supercharged WOT shifts without missing a beat!

Keep an eye open on the teardown and you should be fine.

This.

Mine had probably 250k miles. It ran fine but I did all wear items just in case. I had some toasted bearings and hard seals on top of clutch and steel wear.
