4L80 Swap Update - 1 month later
Well after getting the 80E with a shift kit, Fuddle converter and upgrading to 4:10s. I have spent last 4 weeks tuning the shifts and kickdown points. The 80E is a bit of a power pig so it took a while to get thinks working well. The kickdown points were moved lower so I can punch it on a roll at 35-40% TP and get immediate downshift. Since the boost comes on quick this was done to prevent KR which usually occurred under low rpm and load. This has made a tremendous difference. The 80E shifts are crisp and quick. Of course I lost some low end, but now it doesnt spin wildly in first on launches as with the 60E. (That was only and "EGO" thing) Overall there were some growing pains with the swap. Dont expect to be there on the first test drive. You will need tuning and adjustments. In the end, this is a really good foundation for a 408. Has anyone also made similar changes and how were their experiences??

Would you mind sharing your transmission parameters? I am going to be doing the tuning on mine next weekend hopefully and it would be cool to have a good baseline to start from.
