Default 4L80 Transgo HD2 Questions

OK I installed my HD2 in my 4L80 last night, but as it was getting late, in my infinite wisdom, I reinstalled the stock 3rd Accum spring instead of replacing it with the white replacement. I had the spring in my hand but found no white on it and wasnt sure. So the yellow went back in.... This morning I picked up the same spring and found a light dusting of white paint on a corner ugggghh. The tranny is back together now, should I tear it back apart to install the white spring? What will be the effect if I dont?

Also, my 3rd and 4the accumulator pistons are plastic, not aluminum like depicted in the instructions and the online video... It's out of an 07 classic... should I replace these plastic pistons?

they said only a few early models had both pistons that were alum, and the material was changed to plastic first fo the forth accumulator and the later for the third. He said he would leave them because it hasn't caused any problems...

But what has me perplexed is that he said the thirs accum spring replacement was larger gauge wire than the origional spring, it's not, the white spring is much softer. I assume he meant that the softer spring would make for a firmer 3rd gear.

I called back and talked to another rep who said the same thing, but then I explained the difference in the springs, he said oh yeah that's right... the HD2 kit has a softer spring. Makes me say hmmmmmm, lol. Never the less, kit is complete minus the "if trans is apart" mods, hope it holds

Still considering doing the pump mods, but heard there is a paper gasket that could tear when you pull it and if it does, your screwed. Every gasket I had on the VB tore on disasembly.... any suggestions. I don't want to go into this thing, its low mile and pretty inside from what I can see.

I've come to the conclusion not even to bother digging into mine. These 80e are stout from the factory as they are.

There is a paper gasket between the pump and trans housing. I've pulled 2 pumps and didn't tear them. Even so I had new ones there and replaced them. Alignment is the hardest part but no big deal.

So if it tears, I will be able to replace it without going any deeper into the case?

Did you use both the inner and outer springs on the accumulator valve? If you use both they say that you get normal shifts, just the outer for firmer and just the inner for the firmest? Just asking because I really don't want to harsh a shift during normal driving.... I installed both springs.
