Default 4l80e 2nd gear limp mode

hey guys about a week ago my truck went into second limp mode. All i have is reverse and second. Took it to a buddies and had him put his snap on scanner and we got a code for tcc solenoid. Well, as soon as we reset it it would show up again with key on. Figured it was wiring in trans or something. So, took pan off found wire coating nicked on one of the shift solenoids. I went ahead and replaced the internal harness and tcc solenoid. Didnt fix anything still shows the code for the that solenoid. I checked the old one by running a hot and ground to it basicly like cleaning injectors and it was clicking like i thought it should be.

My buddy mentioned maybe something might be wrong with one of the shift solenoids. Might replace them but wouldnt that show a code for them instead? What do u guys think on this one?

truck seems to stall out alot coming to a stop and idles crazy. Read up on the tcc solenoid and found out it controls alot of this wierd stuff. Truck hardly ever seemed to lock up like it should, but was doing fine with lock up before it went into limp mode.

drive by cable. When we first pulled the codes it said something about the tps sensor with the tcc code. But it showed percentage with throttle like it should when we checked it. the tps code also cleared when we cleared them except the tcc code.

ok got back out there and looked everything over once more. Found out i had the brown wire In the U spot. Moved it to the correct S spot and fixed that. That had to be my tcc problem. PCM didnt see any responce from the solenoid sense it wasnt connected. Resetting PCM right now. Hope this is the fix.

I have been running this trans for over a year now with the wiring like this. That cant be good.

ok reset computer and still didnt fix anything. Took TPS off and it seemed really sloppy inside where the black platic spun at. It almost fell out when i took it off. Should be swapping out a new one tomorrow. I only had two codes showing. TCC and TPS. TCC was due to wiring swap. From what i have researched the TPS has caused limp mode problems before. Hope it fixes it. Wish me luck!
