4l80e in 91 obs shift linkage problem
I been trying to get shift linkage to work on my 91 silverado to work right. But can't seem to figure out a good solution. Its 5.3 with 02 4l80e. Anyone ran into this problem?

you need to take the nut and bracket off your old 700r4 and install it on your 4l80e and then drop your linkage rod down through it and stick the cotter pin back through it. she will work like a dream

i had to cut the rod 1" to make it fit good but the linkage wont work like it should. it bind every time you try to move shifter.it has a 2004 5.3 and a 2002 4l80e. with long tube its being abit of a p.i.t.a

Your ss454 came stock with a 400 trans and if my memory is correct the shifter section from the frame to the trans is different between a 400 and 4L60E. Since 4L80's a cousin to your 400 thats why it went right together. Try to find a shifter section for any 90-94 3/4 or 1 ton with a 4L80 and you'll be good to go. Make minor adjustments and it will work like stock. I've done this it's just been so long ago I'm trying to remember what I did to make it work but I am pretty sure the above route is what I did. However, at the time it was way easier walked up front to our parts counter and ordered it. Most of that stuff has been long since discontinued but you could check.
93 K2500 454 with 4L80 auto code MT1 on trans if you call a dealer to see if it's still available.
