4l80e converter... will it work? (pics inside)
I bought this converter from a pretty reputable yet smaller company (R&R torque converters) i had a few people refer me to him and his customer service is top notch. I am not doubting the performance of the converter it is just im afraid i will pull the transmission and the converter wont fit because of the added thickness of the plate with the holes for the bolts. What do you guys think just by looking at the pictures? I can take measurements as needed.

It sounds like you claim to trust this guy, but you really don't. The body of the converter should have been built to account for the adapter plate.
From the picture the snout seems to stick out about the same as a stock one so I am guessing the guys knows his stuff and sold you a good converter.

While the converter is probably fine, I wouldn't run it simply because the stacked adapter plate bolted to the 3 welded lugs is all sorts of shady. It doesn't look like the original converter was even meant to go on an 80E (it looks like a 60E converter). There's a lot of stress going to be on those three lugs because of the huge gap.

I think it will fit. It should measure 6.9" from hub to mounting plate. And it will require the 4L80 flexplate with crank spacer. It has the standard GM pilot. That is a 245mm core, probably 3500 range on the flash depending on what internal blade angle and stator they used.
