Default 4L80E not bullet proof afterall...

I was doing a WOT run past a F150 on Sat and the 1-2 shift slipped like a **** Now 1st slips bad It has about 70k on it with 50 of that supercharged. I guess the daily full throttle driving in a near 6000lbs truck finally did it.... Gonna install a transgo during the rebuild.

Was this a stock 4L80E with no shift kit? How much does your truck weigh?

It might be a solenoid problem. Most of the issues with 4L80Es are electronic.

Anyone know how to swap out a 4l60-e with a 4l80-e on a AWD truck?

I haven't been over there a whole lot lately, are they any closer than before?

The obstacle is getting a input gear to accept the 80E output shaft or a special output shaft for the 80E to mate to the stock input gear in the AWD case.

Stock with tweaked line pressure, no shift kit. I figure the truck weighs a good 5700.

If i come into problems with my 65e I believe my ss will become RWD by way of an 80e if the AWD thing has not been figured yet. Im hoping that staying NA and driving it easy 90% of the time will counter the track time....
