Default 4l80e, Which shift kit to go with???

Hey guys, im trying to decide which shift kit i should go with for my application. its a 2001 silverado ECSB. I am currently running a stock 4l80e (2wd) transmission with a 3600 stall. motor is a LQ4 6.0L making 409HP. This is my daily driver, i play on the streets alot and occasionally run it at the track. Also do towing with it periodically

Trucks weighs 4850lbs. Figured i should mention the weight of the vehicle since ive been reading about people saying shift kits shift firmer or softer according to vehicle weight.

Im not trying to snap my neck every time it shifts, but would definitely like to have a firmer shift than stock

What kit would you recommend? TransGo, TransGo HD2, B&M?
Thanks in Advance

I had the a Sonnax kit installed in my 80e swap. I have also had the shift points adjusted a bit to not give me the neck breaking feel.

I don't recommend any of the ones you listed.

I just installed the above Sonnax sure sure kit in my 4l80e. I had to buy the reamer to alter the valve body. Its not a hard install but you'll need to tear the trans down. It hits some weak points with the case, bearings, valvebody and so forth.

Also, if you're tearing the trans down look into the internal dual feed mod. Its supposedly better than any bolt on version.. and reversible if you don't like it for some reason. This is the equivalent to the shift kits you listed.

While you're in there you can drill the pump to avoid pushing out the seal and drill a hole in the direct? drum (still learning my parts) to avoid high rpm apply in 1st. Get good bits. I killed a drum when a cheap bit snapped off. Arg!

Oh, and tuning on top can reduce torque management to stop timing being pulled on shifts.

Sorry to spam, one last thing. Jakes can sell you an amazing package for a decent price that has all these mods.. and you can trust the damn trans will work!

Thank you. Can you tag this Jake guy?

Also, I am currently tuned on HP Tuners. I've played with Alot of the trans tuning as far as shift pressures, times, and points. Still learning some of the tuning as far as torque management goes

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the torque management is disabled currently

I like Sonnax parts, internal dual feed mod and custom drilling of the stock plate.

I did .120" for 2nd, .135" for 3rd and I think I took 4th feed .070" over stock (don't remember size).

jakesperformance does the transmissions. I don't think he's a sponsor here so I can't put a link.
