4L80e slipping after HD2 install

Aw man, already giving up on your trans? Any word on what the issue was? I'm betting it's something that's easy to fix.
Warranties on junkyard transmissions are nice, but if it doesn't work right you still need to pull it and your ride is down a couple weeks if not more. Or will they send you to a shop to get it repaired under warranty?

I havent officially given up yet, but I am making sure I'm prepared in case I do move forward. If anything happens to the tranny they will give you a new one that is similar to the one you bought. So you still have to swap em out, but at least you arent completely boned...
Kurt and I will be pulling the tranny pan and looking at the valve body again tomorrow night. I think he will have a friend there who built an 80e for his Avy as well. Just another set of eyes who knows that theyre doing... it certainly cant hurt. I'm hoping its somethign wrong with the boost valve etc... I just hope if that does solve the issue that I havent done too much damage to the clutches.

Sadly, I think you're right Pat.
With any luck this will all work out sooner than later... Whatever the path I end up taking to get there.
As of right now I'm determined to have this together and running strong before the track closes here on Oct. 31. I will make an initial pass with the 80e and TVS, no matter how close I am to my initial goals it will feel good to get it done.

A couple days, and I was very light on the throttle. I can feel when its slipping and when its not. I can drive light enough that it doesn't feel like its slipping. I guess the bigger concern is that they're glazed, not totally worn. I still have good hold at light throttle though which is encouraging for such a low line pressure.
Who knows... I'll know for sure this week at some point.

If you had to buy another transmission, I'd still say you put in another shift kit. For $120 they're so cheap, and it's way easier to do while the trans. is on Kurt's stand, as you saw.
