4L80E swap what is needed?
I want to put the 4l80e in my truck 02 scsb, I want to know what all I need to do it. What year trannys can I use. Will I need a new drive shaft? If anyone could tell me what all is needed for the swap and where to get it I would greatly appreciate it.

For some reason, I thought GM only paired the 6.0 with the 80E. But obviously I wasn't correct, since the Denali's run the 6.0 and the 65E. That's a bummer. Because the 65E is only "rated" for 370 ft-lbs.
I don't know if anybody is making a conversion kit for late model AWD tcases. I know that there are some folks who are making (very limited production) a conversion kit for the 80E and the BW4472 transfer case (used in the Syclone, Typhoon, Bravada, and Astro) but I don't think its a bolt in deal. Basically they're taking the stock 80E output shaft (32 spline) and cutting it down to 27 splines so it fits the stock tcase. I'm not real sure how strong that is, but a powerglide uses 27 splines and they get pretty high powered. Couldn't be too bad.

Ok, you've got me, what are you asking? What gear numbers? Part numbers, gear ratios, what? Help my feeble mind out.
