Oh, as in gear ratios...

I got that info.

700R4 / 4L60 / 4L60E / 4L65E
1st: 3.06:1 2nd: 1.63:1 3rd: 1:1 (direct) 4th: .696:1 (overdrive) Reverse: 2.294:1

4L80E (with standard ratios)
1st: 2.48:1 2nd: 1.48:1 3rd: 1:1 4th: .75:1 Reverse: 2.077:1

4L80E (with 2.75:1 1st gear aftermarket ratios)
1st: 2.75:1 2nd: 1.57:1 3rd: 1:1 4th: .75:1 Reverse: ??? (can't find any info & doesn't really matter all that much)

For reference:
TH350 (with standard ratios)
1st: 2.52:1 2nd: 1.52:1 3rd: 1:1 4th: ---- Reverse: 1.93:1

TH400 (with standard ratios)
1st: 2.48:1 2nd: 1.48:1 3rd: 1:1 4th: ---- Reverse: 2.077:1

Hope that helps. As you can see, the 80E has a fair bit less gear spread than the 60 (even with a low gear option). Which can be good for reduced rpm drop, but potentially bad for fuel economy.

You are better off to start with 2001 or later 4L80E,everything from a 6.0 2500 truck will work.So check the wrecking yard to save some money a complete transmission with the switches, flywheel and converter would be a good start. You'll need an adaptor harness,a second out speed sensor cable and programming. You'll need to modify your crossmember to reposition the transmission's mount. The stock driveshaft will probably work with a th400 output shaft and a adapter u-joint[mine did].If you go aftermarket on your converter Yank requires a crank spacer and 6 bolt flywheel[I have one]and a Vigilante will bolt to your stock flywheel. If you start to do the swap I've got some of the parts laying around my garage so maybe I can help.

I've got a crank spacer with the bolts,a flywheel from a HD truck and a Yank SC3000 converter for a 4L80E.
