4l80e Swap-will not shift
Ok, I just finished up my 80E swap and I'm having shifting issues.
Transmission shifts into reverse and drive. It has firm lockup going from park to reverse but it feels very soft going into drive. When driving it in reverse it acts completely normal. In drive, it feels like it has no power and takes a quite a bit of throttle to get it to accelerate. Engine rpm rises but the truck has a hard time getting going. Once you get cruising the transmission will not shift at all, it stays in first gear. I ran the harness for the speed sensor, I swapped the white and brown wires on the harness and the segment swap was done with hptuners. Strangely I can command the transmission to shift using hptuners and it will shift into every gear normally including lockup. It just won't do it on its own, won't shift manually either and it is very sluggish taking off.
I've triple checked the wiring and it's correct.
I confirmed the linkage shifts into all gears
The gear selector shows on the dash
Speedo works
Am I missing something?
Any ideas before I rebuild this thing and buy a $1k converter?

I haven't checked line pressure yet but, I tried driving it while selecting gears manually. With the gear selector in 3rd I start driving and it will upshift when I move the gear selector to second gear. Maybe I have a couple problems, I crawled under the truck and noticed transmission fluid leaking out of the main connector. I read this may cause it to go into limp mode. About it upshifting while I move the gear selector in a downshift position is the segment swap not working correctly?

My issues were as suspected. The segment swap didn't take. I met up with my tuner and corrected that issue. It is still going into limp mode causing it to stay in 2nd gear. Since the harness connector is leaking trans fluid I ordered a new internal harness. I'm certain this will fix my limp mode issues. Thanks for the help guys.

I had the same problems if you are using the speartech harness it may be ba. a friend of mine and my self had major problems with ours, with his two of the wires were melted and grounded out and that would cause all his lights and gauges To out.. and with mine mine it would lock up my converter in 2nd gear and the shifts would be hard as hell.. well after taking it out and repin stoxk I've been fine since.
