Default 4L80e in a Tahoe

I have searched, but I thought I read someone on here had installed an 80 in a Tahoe. What would it take to get one in a 2003? Are there any options as to a stout trans in a Tahoe?

TIA

1slowhoe put one in his. No options for a stout trans other than the 4l80 IMO. You will need to modify the crossmember, move a pin on the trans connector and add two wires for the extra vss. The driveshaft(s) will need to be modified, some 2wd guys have used a long th400 yoke I think. The cooler lines are slightly different. Also find a compatible trans segment from another tune to swap in.

I saw your write up for the 4wd, is everything you did with regard to the crossmember the same as would be on a Yukon? Everything should be the same right?

Raptor trans I believe it is makes a 4l80e crossmember for the tahoes. It's pretty reasonably priced too if I remember right.
