Default 4l80e trans brake

Sorry search never works on my phone, but don't remeber any info.

To add a brake to my 80e I need a valve body, and a reverse patern shifter? With the valve body come with the brake or is that sepperate? Can I use the factory colum shift or is an aftermarket a must?

you can do the hack mod and pay a visit to sloppy mechanics page as they do a wiring trick to fool the 80 into a transbrake should be right up your alley for being a butcher

Might give it a shot but I was going to have the trans gone through and possibly add a brake if it wasn't too costly.

Look up Jake's Performance. He offers 2 different Trans brakes for the 4L80E.

I am in no way recommending them, merely just pointing out that he sells them.

This 80 is going in a fairmont. It weighs right at 3000 right now qith a nitrous 4.8 but the 76mm turbo will go on later. I think the trans needs done anyhow, so was considering doing the brake now. Do I need upgraded internals for a 3000 lb car with 400 or so hp on nitrous?

I didn't have time yet to look up the sloppy mechanics trickery does it have some decent results?

Gotcha. If I could put a brake in for $300- $500 I was considering doing it now, I will just wait till I put the turbo on and plan to bullet proof the 80 then.

I am not bracket racing or anything now anyhow, just looking to have some fun.

Either go stockish 6.0 or diesel swap the hd with tucked semi wheels, 13" out back and 8" up from tucked. Narrowed backhalfed so the meats will fit. Putting 325/50r22s on the semi wheels out back.
