I'd guess the same as 60 vs 65. 4 planetary vs 5 planetary

Yep! Five pinion planets are the difference.

4l80e verses 4l65e alot different designs totally The 4l80e is a 400 with overdrive and is tough as nails the 4l65e a 35o with 5 pinion planets

I think your talking about the 65e.

Yep I see that , Sometimes My old eyes get tired in the eve and I dont see so well So thats would be a yep 5 pin planets

... and the 80E'a 4 pinion planets should be plenty strong. parish ran an 80E... I think past 1000rw... so should be plenty, eh? But, if you can get an 85E on the cheap... go for it! I think I remember talking to Vince about this awhile back. I didn't even bother trying to price out the (3) 85E's planets. I did get a 300M input shaft though
