Default 4WD Conversion

What's up guys..

I'm looking into what it would take to convert my 1999 GMC Sierra 1500 Ext. Cab 2WD into a 4WD. If this topic is here somewhere I didn't see it so flame suit on..

I have a good idea of what would be needed, I'm just checking to see if it would be possible to do with my 2WD Chassis. I'm not worried about bolting it up/wiring..all that good stuff..I'm just asking to see if the provisions are there to make it happen.

Thanks.

frame is different. It would be easier and cheaper to find a 4wd donor and swap your stuff to it. Why are you looking for a 4wd?

That's what I have found looking into it..

I was thinking about the idea..it would be fun to have something to play in the mud too.

What about the Frame is different?

Ah..yea I can see that for the Front Third Member assembly..I was hoping that it would be a direct swap out but I guess you win some 'n loose some..

Thanks for the help.

You could swap to a solid front axle. Several companies sell swap kits for 2wd trucks.
