Strap the front end down and get some traction bars.

Nope, its been rock solid, and my tcase has close to 250k miles on it. The most important thing is strapping the front end down....when it lifts, you will have terrible front end geometry and can easily break cv shafts and have bad torque steer problems.

Keeping your CV axles straight (parallel to the ground) is the best way to run them.. so if you can strap it down to do that, and your pretty much set.

only other things is a good transmission and a good posi traction in the rear.

STRESS the trans and rear-end part of that.

Would be wise to rebuild the front diff with factory bearings and seals just to make sure they are in good shape. For the rear, most people on here go with (pick your fav. brand) girdle cover, diff cap studs, and a truetrac.

You are not going to build a 60e for a 1000hp in a truck. What is your setup? A 80E is a overall bigger and heavier trans, they are a common upgrade due to their strength however they are not a direct bolt in as they are slightly longer (about 2") Weight and power kill transmissions, 60's do not like either.
