I'm working on 3 years and 50k miles on my stockish 60E behind the blown and cammed 5.3 in my 4wd Tahoe. Just shift kit, separator plate, big trans cooler and servos. Didn't expect it to last this long, but I'll certainly take it

You'll be saving yourself a tow bill or at the least some headache if you just do the trans now, you're planning on some decent power, you know you're going to have to do it eventually so why not go ahead and start gathering parts? The 80E swap is not all that complicated. You can sell your trans now in working shape and offset some of the cost of the swap as well.
