I have a 3k TCI in my ext cab z71, for 400 bucks its taken a hell of a beating and has been driven everyday for the past year.
At one point I didnt have a fan shroud and drove the entire summer with it getting hot as hell and tranny temps getting around 200. No problems.
It does have a "loose" feeling to it but that isnt always a bad thing. I think stalls in heavier vehicles tend to feel looser than in lighter ones.

2400 Vigilante here. I tow regularly so I wanted it fairly tight. The triple disc lockup clutch is fantastic.

I don't know about the ART CARR clutches, but I was told (by a tech from art carr) not to tow with P.O.S , and if I have to tow do it in thrid with the converter unlocked. I for-see great gas mileage with that tip. lol
So out come the trans AGAIN!

Now back on topic

I had a TCI 3000 in mine, now I have a TB, I liked the TCI better, but it was a little too loose. I'll probably try to get a Fuddle, or Yank 3000 later this year.
