I got my driveshaft yoke from Jakes. There are two shafts and your van shaft might have longer splines than the ones made for trucks with the bolt on yoke. He has a counterbored one from spicer that works great with the models that only have 2-3/8" of spline.

anybody know what direction the shift lever should be point while in PARK. mine is pointing in like the 9-10 o'Clock position. a pic would be greatly appreciated of the linkage and everything assembled, i just need an idea of what the finished product should look like.

More like 7:30 to 8 if I had to guess. It will be as far forward towards the front of the vehicle as possible. Also you will not be able to turn the rear drive shaft so this will confirm that that you are in park.

figured id update this thread instead of starting a new one. getting my driveshaft cut and balanced on friday. how much fluid is this damn thing supposed too take!! i poured 2 large ( the ones oreilly's sells i think 5qt) and 1 individual quart. i have a tru-cool 40k cooler. i let the truck idle for about 15 mins and the left side of the cooler started warming up, if i pull the dipstick it still reads low. i have a circle d stall also 278mm. i just hope this thing works when i try to drive the truck. supposedly it had 90,000 on it. its a 1995 model. all i did was change the filter. when i opened it when i first got it off craigslist it looked clean inside. fluid wasnt burnt or near black at all.

I think you need 14-15L of ATF for the 4L80E.

I know my old 4L60E took 12L when I had it flushed almost a decade ago.
