The shifter comes up right where your cup holder is, on the middle seat. If you leave the middle seat in, you wil probably touch the seat in 2nd, 4th, and 6th. I used a hurst shifter and removed the middle seat.

Ok so it's just a different shaft, not a completely different shifter. But that's cool, i was going more for looks, didn't really care about the length of the shift, but it does feel a lot better than stock.

Sometimes I think that I'd like to scrap this auto too. I was thinking the same thing about the aftermarket trannies. I think they have three locations. Anyone have the measurement from bellhousing face to shifter centerline info from a NVG3500 that we can compare? I would only really consider this if you could get the shifter near the stock location so I could keep the center seat. I'd also rather have a longer handle so that it is in a more comfortable position rather than reaching way down for a short f-body one.
