They did with the 4L65e, which is still a 4L60e.

The vortec max trucks and silverado SS trucks came in 2wd.

The Sierra Denali C3 I believe was the first to offer it around 2001 with LQ4 6.0L 4L60E

2004-2005 VHO had an LQ9 6.0L with 4L65E Extended Cab Only 2wd only

2006-2007 Vortec Max had a LQ9 6.0L with 4L65E Extended cab and Crew cab but were also available in 4x4

The Silverado SS had the same combo LQ9 6.0L with 4L65E available in 2003-2005 in AWD. 2005 was the first you you could get the Silverado SS as 2wd optional.

In 2006 and 2007 the Silverado SS was only available in 2wd.

06 and 07 Max trucks run the 70E, not the 65. Oddly enough though the LQ9 powered Denali pickups from 05 to 07 run the 65E.... Lol. They are more or less the same trans minus the ISS on the 70 but still haha.

Actually that's false. The 06-07 Classic body style trucks had a the 4L65E with the LQ9

The NNBS 07-up Vortec Max would have had the 70E but they also had switched to the L76 6.0L from 07-09

Sorry but that is absolutely 100% incorrect.... again. The 06 and 07 classic Max have a 4L70E and RPO M70 in the glove box. The 06 Max and Trailblazer SS were the first appearance of the 4L70E.

Feel free to run this trucks VIN.... it's an 06 Max that I should have bought years ago..... 2GCEK19N761241863.... Here I will attach it's build sheet for you.

So this was a truck that was sold in Canada? I see it also has federal emissions also.

I will have the vin tomorrow of one in my area that was a M32 But it's a California emissions truck.

The TBSS I would Expect it on since they went to an E40 engine controller with a T42 trans controller.

You can type 06 Vortec Max into Google and find this over and over and over lol... But I guess every Max owner ever is wrong lol. They all come out of the same plants..... Ours just has DRL's activated that an American truck wouldn't have then. Here's a GM bulletin from 2005.. And that truck I posted was built in December of 05 as well.

Info - New Product Announcement - 4L70-E (M70) Automatic Transmission #05-07-30-026 - (Oct 7, 2005)

2006 Chevrolet Silverado, TrailBlazer SS

2006 GMC Sierra

with 4L70-E Automatic Transmission (RPO M70)

General Motors Powertrain required a version of a current production rear wheel drive transmission capable of handling higher torque and horsepower without going to a larger size transmission. As a result, the 4L70-E was created. Very much like the 4L65-E, the 4L70-E shares many of the same components and adding premium materials and additional manufacturing processes, the 4L70-E is capable of handling up to 400 horsepower and 430 foot-pounds of torque. It is also capable of increasing shift speeds up to 6000 rpm.

The 4L70-E will be first introduced in some 2006 mid-size sport utilities and full-size pickups. The 4L70-E will be identified as RPO M70. The M70 will use the large 300 mm (101K or 112K) torque converter. Some M70 models will be the first 4L60 series transmissions to receive the new input speed sensor (ISS) .

Below are the 2006 4L70-E applications and models:

• Sport Utility 4L70-E models with ISS: SKD/TKD

• Full-Size Pickup 4L70-E models: CMD, CWD & KMD

Important: The following graphic and table describe only the essential components that make up the M70 transmission model and will not identify all parts.

The following identifies the 4L70-E (M70) components and the components it shares with the 4L65-E (M32) transmission.

DRL's? Daytime Running Lamps? If so, We have those in the states as well.

My 06 GMC Spring Special and my 06 SS both had M32 codes but they are 2WD Torsion Bar frame trucks from the same plant in Canada.

I am wondering if it had something to do with 4x4 option then.
