If the 6.0 came out of a 2500hd truck or a van then the flexplates are indeed different, Those flexplates are for 4l80e trannys. In order to bolt up your 60e to that engine you will need a 60e flexplate, You can use the one that came on your old engine if it was a 4.8, 5.3.

Use your old 5.3 flexplate on the 6L and also you may have a problem bolting up the TC to flexplate one bolt may not fit well into the flexplate just use a drill bit to round it out a bit.

I do believe this to be true about using your old flywheel. As far as having to drill it out I would not think so. There is one hole on you original flexplate that is not a pefect circle. It actually has 2 flat spots on the sides. This is the first bolt hole you should use. It centers the the other two tc bolts. If you don't do this it could be the reason for having to drill out the hole. If you did install the bolts as I as i just said and still had a problem. It is an issue with an aftermarket tc pads.

I didn't have to drill on my flexplate to get the bolts in?

Make sure your TC is seated all the way, you may not have it all the way on.

That's Yank's install guide, very helpful
