60e type fluid?

Default 60e type fluid?

What kind guys like to use transmission fluid. I need change on mine. Its almost 90k on 06 silverado. Want to know how many quarts do I need get it. Im going to drop the pan same time change the filter and put new gasket before fill up transmission fluid.

He has an 06. Dexron VI any brand.

Great point, I didn't even think of that. He has to use Dex 6. That stuff is crazy expensive.

A completely dry 4l60e takes somewhere around 11-12 quarts I believe.

BTW, I wouldn't touch a thing on that trans. My stock 155k mile 4l60e was working perfectly when pulled, I never did it a thing to it.

Just buy a case and if you have some left you'll have extra. I believe it's about 5-6qts anyway.

Walmart sells SuperTech (walmart brand) Dex VI that works great. i've used it for a while with no problems. check out bob is the oil guy, a lot of people on there suggest the SuperTech Dex VI as well. The specs are so tight on Dex VI that almost all brands are the same stuff

That's solid info there, just did mine (60E in a 06) took about 4 1/2 after the filter change and then I did the flush. I had 14 quarts on hand and ended up with one spare. Yes Dexron VI is the correct stuff for your 06.
