Just finished ordering the goods for the 85e currently on the operating table.

gonna stick with what works.

the 80 in the truck has been hassle free, the stock converter however has not(go figure LOL). Hey what can i say, it held up to several thrashings on LEP's dyno, half a dozen 1/4 mile passes, half a dozen mustang dyno pulls, and 8k over the road miles.
What you think a stock 4l80 stalls at??? cuz now this one now stalls @ 3700

Guess i will have to find homes for the 2 remaining 4l80's
Depending on when you sell one of them and the price I might be interested in one.

skipperdaddy has over 500rwhp through a stock 6spd....i have 400 through a stock 6 spd...i dont abuse my truck everyday but i have a few miles on mine since the swap and the ONLY thing that i got to complain about is the price of a damn converter seriously though, the 6spd may be a big hassle for you but to each is own. also another thing about the 6spd, you can not make it shift as fast as a 60e/80e. basically in the tune the setting for "shift time" has to be set dead on or you will burn the clutches up. mine doesnt shift as fast as the 60e i had, but it makes up for it just fine when it starts pulling again. just my .02

Iamkennif, you swapped the 6l80 into an 08 that had a 4l60 correct? I've got an 08 sierra with a vmax that i'd like to have that 6l80 behind. As far as the controller is concerned what did you use? Did the stock tcu work, did you need the tcu from the donor vehicle, or did you have to get something from the aftermarket?

I've got a g8 gt as well and absolutely love the 6 speed auto. Love it so much I want it in the truck too.

yep, it wasnt that bad...i actually love driving my truck in town with a stock converter vs the 3600 i had.

gmt-900 section, search my name, you'll see the whole write up.

stock ecm will run the 6L80e tcm, you just have to tune it like normal and make sure ALL the plugs are wired the exact same.
