Default 6L80E limits

What are the limits on the stock 2010+ 6l80e??

Like can the handle the power from a FI motor on low boost say 8psi tops <500rwhp?

are there shift kits for them??

Im about to buy a 2010 CC nnbs with the 6.2/6l80 combo and wanted to know how the 6l80e would hold up? or what upgrades are out for it to beef it up, I couldnt find anything for a 6l80e on FLT's website.

I havent done much research on them yet(6l80e) but i can tell you that the 80e will be stronger stock than some built 60's..... And on a 500hp range a 60 can handle that. Shift kits are avalible for both, if you plan on gettin into the upwards of 700 hp range id consider the 80e.... I had a fully build 60 that was in the 2,500$ range, now i have a 80e in the 1200$ range thats better :}

It all in the tuning. My tune has gone 9.90's with no major breakage's in a C6 vette. Clutches are just tired by the end of the racing season and it just need a fresh kit in it. Controlling the lock-up was issue (PWM), up till about 6 months ago. HPT has solved that issue with latest BETA.

Keep in mind weight of a vette and the weight of a truck.... Makes a big difference

Circle D also got in the new 300m shafts last week. The part that scares me about these 6L80s is that they are blowing up in +/- 500 rwhp Camaros and I figure I'm tipping the scales an even ton over them.

I suspect we will soon be reading about upgrades from the 6L80 to the 4L80 and its known power handling! I read somewhere lately that in addition to the much smaller clutches, that the drum/cage in the 6L80 is prone to high speed failure at about the same speed as our driveshafts.

/\ which is why 6L90E equipped CTS-Vs are speed-limited to 176mph while TR6060 (M6) Vs run unlimited, topping out at 192. Gotta love components that self-destruct before the vehicle's actual top speed.

Got 6L90 if you're making big boosted power. Components are stronger from the factory than a 6L80.
