People ship transmissions on pallets all over the country every day of the week.

Circle-D has some great stuff going on with their 6L80/90 program. They're going to be among the best (very few) shops in the country that can handle your request. They're in Houston... Good chance to come visit family?

Unless you're just wanting to drop the vehicle off and pick it up complete.....

yeah but that really would be adding to the cost of the whole thing, this is my only car btw, so the entire time the cars in the shop, ill be in a rental, and i dont wanna ship my tranny to houston and back cause that would add much more time unless i overnighted it, which would probably be pretty expensive, really lookin for a shop in southern california

IMO, 10 G's on a trans build is insane for any GM trans....

and are they even using your core??

if I'm reading that quote right they are charging you $1500 and then again $6,9xx for the same thing?

theyre saying that the overhaul kit is 6900, the 1500 is for labor, the place is called DCperformance, theyre in los angeles and from what i understand, they really like money, A LOT, i dont think these guys really have a clear grasp on what it means to be a descent human being, i hope they realize that people talk and reputations are formed.

Labor looks like $4hundred and change, parts are $7K?? and WTF are they subletting... the labor?? You could build one for scratch for way less... and FYI. Trans parts (for the most part) are dirt cheap. Labor is where most of your cost ends up being if you do it yourself...

I just paid under 3K for a Circle D 6L80 rebuild plus $400 for shipping both ways. Once the tranny gets installed The stock one can be sent to them for a rebuild reducing down time. That is why we bought the extra one in the first place.

That's insane!

I'd rather do a junkyard 80E swap...
