Default 8 lug to 6????

What I'm wanting to do is use the front and rear axles out of a HD truck in my 05 Z71 for 2 reasons. 1 being the half ton front end does not offer any kind of posi or locker from any aftermarket company due to weakness issues. 2 being I plan on all wheel launching this thing and would rather get the reliability in the axles before I blow something to hell. I don't go off road that often (I have a Jeep for that) but I still want to beef things up under the truck. The rear obviously isn't an issue but I'd really like to maintain the 6 lug front and rear so I'm wondering if anyone has used the bigger front end and kept the half ton hubs or somehow modded the HD hubs to 6 lug. Also if anyone has any input on how to make such a conversion, it would be greatly appreciated

From what I can tell, the 9.25 diff is a bit bigger and wider requiring custom length CV shafts and grinding on the axle housing a bit to fit it in the 1/2 ton frame. Anyone done it yet??? Pics???
