Here is a picture of my connector. You can see the the locking tabs aren't grabbing the outer rim of the tranny. You can push it back into the case. The green insert you see was also missing. I put one in that I had laying around.

I think the O'ring might be stopping it...it's a very tight fit.
It needs to push all the way through and lock in...obviously.

EDIT: I think it can only go in in one orientation also...so maybe try turning it.

Something is up no doubt. Gonna wait till I get the pan off and see whats going on. It gets tight but just can't pull it through. Gonna have to push it in from the other side.

Got the engine on a stand today and pulled the pan. The connector just took a knock somewhere. Little coaxing and it snapped right back in.

Like what I see so far. Basically a brand damn new tranny.

Yeah....thought it was out of whack. The other pic shows it on an angle (looking at the flat sections inside the plug). Now they run parrallel with the trany.

Are you going to open it right up and do the full shift kit install or just the valve body mods?

Probably just the valve body mods. I don't want to screw up a perfectly good transmission.

I asked around because I was thinking the same thing when I did mine. I'd never opened an auto trany before so was 'scared' Lol!
Everyone suggested....I might as well go the whole hog and do the springs etc.
Glad I did.
I did it all with no special tools.
All's needed is rattle can lids and hose clamps (seal resizers), clear plastic sheet (lip seal inserting tool)...etc.

I think the trans will hold up okay without the springs. I have never been into a transmission. Yep I'm scared. Plans change. The longer it sits out there too long whilst I'm gathering other parts the greater the chances are I will tear into it deeper.

I will probably start a new thread in the new project forum shortly. I will document everything I run into. Crawled under an 02 1500HD 4wd CC today and took some pictures for reference. Wondered about the cross member, hoping it would be an interchange. Its not. Also wondering about the TC cover. No support rods on it. Obviously a 2 piece DS.

I have a feeling this is gonna be a slow going modification.
