80e Swap, PRNDL necessary?
Talked to speartech, they don't have any hookups on the 60e to 80e harness for a PRNDL. Which is great since i'm running a tci outlaw shifter.
Question is, do i need to tune out anything since i won't be using a PRNDL at all?
Have Reverse lights tied in to the tci shifter already, linkage is set, but wanted to get some clarification on any issues with the PCM not seeing a NSS/PRNDL.
My 80e is a pre-93 so the shaft is way to short, and i don't want to send it to Jakes to have him tear it all apart lol.

I'm by no means an expert or experienced in your situation but your 4 speed PCM tune will be looking for a P N value to allow the starter to engage at a minimum. Also I figure you'll have abuse mode rpm limiters, P D idle speed , spark, etc to overcome if the PCM isn't aware what the transmissions status is.
I suppose there is the option to run a manual tune however the PCM will still need the clutch status and I assume other inputs to control to normal expectations.
As for the shifter shaft length don't see why with a little effort to swap from a later year model. (I didn't remove the shaft lever in my rebuild I don't recall it being anything special to special) Seems like it would be much less effort than removing and sending to jake. I for one like the ability for the trans to shift automatically, although it is my DD. Are you running a fancy Jakes valve body?

Research around there is a trick to this. Same things guys do when they swap in th400s. U wire a couple wires together to trick the neutral safety switch. So u can start the vehicle. U can also wire it to be fully manual trans some how. Or u could use jakes manual trans harness.
