Ok..my Transmission crapped out on my 86 Chevrolet Silverado..It was going good. I went around a corner and all the sudden i heard it rev louder, pushed the gas down harder...and it wasn't moving just revving...all the gears are pretty much gone, If i rev it really high in the rpms i can get it to move a little bit forward and backwards but not much.
So..I was wandering wheres the best place to get a Rebuilt Transmission 700R4, cheapest also. Also wandering my dad said something about, if i get a Turbo400 Transmission, I don't got OD but its alot better transmission and its cheaper?...
What do you guys think I should do...any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks

i feel your pain. i went through 5 700r4's in my old z28. i don't know who in your area will or can rebuild trans that will hold up. i kept getting ripped off with my rebuilds. if i had it to do over, i would have either took an off the shelf or went with a turbo 350

2 words BOWTIE OVERDRIVES
they build AWSOME 700R4's they might not be the CHEAPEST but they arnt very much more then the cheapo's.
I bought one of there stage 3's or my 84 (4x4) ive been running it for over a year and its still works like the day I put it in, its behind a pretty healthy small block and ive done sled pulls with it 4 times, I couldent be happyer with it espically when my buddies have gone though 2nd or 3rd that they got done locally. PLUS they send you a complete tranny not re-build yours.

bowtie overdrives is nice. on the expensive side but nice. I have their stage 4 in my blazer and its got 40s on it and its been doing great. They got scared when I told them what I had, but it is doing good so far.
