Default 9.5", 14-bolt, SF Full-Size Rear with Discs?

Another piece of the puzzle for my project (2003-2005 Tahoe) is going to be the rear end. I want to build it right (read: sturdy) the first time, so that means no 10-bolt, and I'd rather not have the power loss associated with a full floater 10.5" rear. I have a 9.5" on my TBSS, but it is not full-size, and the new Vortec Max trucks with 9.5" rears have drums in back.

So my question is, is there a 9.5" rear axle assembly for full-size GM trucks that already comes equipped with disc brakes?

There is an adapter bracket to put factory discs on a 14 bolt. I cant remember the name right now. After tax return time I will bedoing this conversion. I got a SF 9.5" out of a 93 van which has the same track width as my truck and will be building it from the ground up and using teh Baer eradispeed kit for brakes.

Nope the 03/04 SSS AWDs had the 10 bolt in the rear, when the 2wd SSS became available in 05? they put the 14 bolt in the rear but went to drum. I believe that is correct, FYI the 6 lug 14bolt SF cost gold(1200+ from a junkyard). As it is right now there are NO aftermarket 6lug 14 bolt SF axles out there, they can be custom made but I havent had any luck finding a shop to do it for a decent price.

the 6lug 14bolt SF rear that costs gold from a junkyard is it disc brakes and if so what vehicle does it come from

and does a full floater really take more power to turn

does anyone know what rear the dmax and 8.1L trucks have

I dont know off the top of my head, PM AxisT6 he is helping me with the build since he is a rear end guru.

The FF 14bolt is a 10.5" which sucks more power, the Dmaxs have the FF 14bolt if Im not mistaken.

What vehicles did these come on?

I presume that SF automatically means 9.5"?

For brakes I'm thinking something more effective and of course more $$$...

Rear brakes arent nearly as important, Im going with their alumasports for the front, Brembo wants crazy money with their stuff and wilwood is pretty much in the same boat. Baers 6 pistons arent available for the rear so what are you going with?
