Default '95 nv3500 on a 2002 LQ4, slave and clutch need help

I might be over thinking this ( probably ) but I want to run a slave of a 2002 silverado instead of the fork that came with the 1995 transmission .

I have clearence issue and want to cut the case to remove the portion where the clutch fork and slave sit's

Can I just delete the clutch fork and slave and buy a clutch flywheel from a 02 silverado bolt it to the Lq4 and buy a 2002 slave and install it in the case without any major mods ?

Yes I think so, my slave in my 97 looked like the 2002 slave.

i know it's 4 months later, but...
check your master cylinder line connection first. my 99 has a roll pin connection up top & the quick-connect on the slave. i believe 01 or 02 was when they switched it to the quick-connect up top with the line roll pinned into the slave
