Default 98 2500 ext cab shortbed 454 build

So I bought a black 98 ext cab 4x4 shorted that happens to be an l29 motor I plan on tossing the intake doing a 0411 pcm conversion and running coils and a edwlbrock pro flo intake with an LS throttle body, AFR 345 magnum rec port And a 226/236 cam on a 112 with, 550 intake and exhaust lift, and I plan on throwing a 3200 stall in it and the Nv149 escalade Tcase, this things gonna be a desert runner street truck, Do you think this setup should throw down some good power? It's gonna be 10:1 compression

Being a big block, I'm sure it will throw down okay horsepower but it's going to have all the torque down low like most big blocks do. Should have no problems doing burnouts and getting you going.

It will be a fun driver for sure. But unless you just wanna dump a ton of money in it a cam swap is just day and night difference all by itself. Other than advanced tuning differences theres no power gain in a 411 swap. You can tune old black box as is more than enough for the power you'll make with a cam swap and bolt ons. Theres not a lotta extra power to be made for the stack of cash your going to throw at it. It's a big block low to mid RPM torque is where it's at. I have built several of these trucks for myself personally using everything stock but a custom cam from comp and a set of springs and eeked out some hella power and they would scoot even black box computer

I'm not saying don't spend the money I'm just saying it's not a necessity to make dd power you'll never get LS power but you'll get lotta smiles red light to red light a LS just can't match

my 70 nova has a 496 BBC with a comp roller cam. It has tons down low but really wakes up at 3500-4000 rpm’s. It pulls like a beast but I only spin it to 6500k
