'99 6.0 crank/LQ9 block/TH400....WHAT FLEXPLATE????
I am way up **** creek w/out a paddle here boys. I have a 6.0 block, the slightly longer 6.0 crank, TCI LS1 flexplate, and a fuddle stall for my TH400. Obviously, the flexplate sticks out too far for my starter.
WHAT FIXES THIS. I've tried several truck starters, and they are all the same. I've tried lots of machine work to compensate on the plate and converter but it still isn't solving anything.
Who has resolved this issue before????

why dotn you find a starter for a 00 3/4 ton truck? it should be that simple. those starters are little longer. i also think i have a 00 flexplate from a ironhead motor lying around. let me check to see if its still around...possibly ship it to you for cost of shipping and gas to the drop off

it shouldnt be that hard to figure out tho. the iron crank is longer yes, but later models are same distance with a spacer. unless something is wrong with your build

when i put the 80e in my 2000 (which from what i hear has the longer crank) i didnt have to mess with the starter at all....i went to GM and ordered the flexplate for the 3/4 ton for the 2000 model year...if i remember correctly, it came with a spacer?? I am not positive, but i think when i put it on, it looked like it was backwards, but it was actually the correct way to install it. its been 4 years, so my memory is a little shaddy
