99' Tahoe 4wd to 2wd conversion??
Wife's 99 2dr 4x4 Tahoe has been a money pit. We've put loads of new parts into it and I'm fed up with the 246 transfer case not working properly ( I don't want any suggestions as to how to fix it I'm done with 4x4). She wants to keep it as ev everything else is as she wants it. 1 of the wheel bearings is bad and I've done enough research to know that the 4x4 hubs have to have the axle nut holding the bearings together. So will a 99 and new NBS 2wd 6-lug hub bolt on and retain my just been replaced rotors and ceramic pads? Already have a 6.0 4l80e 2wd combo when I get time for that swap.

I know with my body style a 2wd hub assembly will bolt right into where a 4wd one was. but you don't need to do that if you don't want to. just because you still need the nut to hold the bearing together dosnt mean you can't use your same hubs/ axles by tearing them apart. take a look at this link below and go down to the part where I use the tore apart axles and 4wd hubs to be 2wd. http://www.performancetrucks.net/for...d-pics-480970/

sounds like the wrong direction to me.
Same amount of effort can be put into fixing the system, rather than handicapping the truck. The 246 can be swapped for a working 246 or a 241 and never be a problem again. Instead of 2 front bearings, just do the one and leave the diff.
Carry on soldier, good luck.
