Default AAMCO ?knowledge? (yea right)

So i took my truck to aamco today to get an estimate. 2-3 clutch pack is burnt up. I knew that for the most part. So the guy is bs-ing me about how they're the most "qualified" and what have u and he takes me in the back and shows me a 4l60e out of a Denali full rebuild job and he's like "see this, this here tranny is how their supposed to be built" I guess he thought I had no idea about a transmission and basically trying to "sell me" on his 29 yrs. with aamco knowledge until i told him i graduated from UTI in '02. Then he was more on my level and told me i could sit right here while he worked on my tranny. I asked him how much replacing the 2-3 clutch pack and a shift kit was, he was like $1800. I told him i could almost buy a bulit 65e for that price, well that pissed him off and he was like what's a 65e gm doesn't make a 65e. I was like yes they do they put them in the ls6's so he gets his manual out and says i'll be damned, long story short i wont let these jackasses touch my **** with a 10ft pole cause they're crooked and lack knowledge. So anyone on here replaced a 2-3 clutch pack, any info. is greatly appreciated.

I've been tempted to do my next one myself. Just a little nervous, but hey with the right tools and a good manual, it shouldn't be that bad. I have not ever done anything besides tranny swaps, converters, and shift kits, but I have a few friends that have done their own.

I have NEVER heard anything good about AAMCO, geez how do they stay in business? Find "ZIPPY" on here and PM him. He is a tranny guru. Or call JAG Performance, they helped me out with alot of info before.

The Ls6/Zo6 is a manual trans only.The 4L65E comes behind every 1/2 ton 6.0 automatic(non HD) since 01.

I've had a similar experience with my Mr. Transmission shop. He said my 3500 Stall was a 1200 Stall after brake stalling and "playing around" . Guess he doesn't know new converter technology
