also what is the deal with the SK and the HD2....I know everyone here runs an HD2. But has anyone ever said why?

As for the difference between the SK & the HD2... the SK is a shift "correction" kit (not a true performance enhancement). Ask me how I know first-hand. The HD2 is a full-on performance reprogramming kit. You'll see much better results & longevity with the HD2.
Hope this helps you out... by the way, there's a couple of 4L60E rebuild threads on this site. May wanna use the search engine to find 'em.

yeah I looked through the search engine, good info, I am doing a little research on it here and there, gonna do the shift kit later in the summer maybe. I mean I can't drive for 6 months....medical reasons....so there is no rush.

trans go flips the piston only to gain spring pressure because that side of the piston is thicker
i personally wouldent do it the trans go way just cause i liek to know that the spring is centered the gm way
i've torn aprart a few trans that have broke an acc spring from this piston flip
