Ouch! Sorry to hear that... I had read to stay clear of the cheap ones and go GM. Something about powdered metal gears?

Also found sh!tty *** plastic fwd clutch accumulator piston bad broken and burned up my fwd clutch. Figures that was the only piston I did not upgrade. I now went with pinless billet for the fwd clutch and 1-2 replaced the rear planetary with good stuff and upgraded to 4L70 sun gear. We'll see how this holds up. I have every part that a FLT lev 5 has. I'd still like to know how Trever keeps his together. That truck is truely a freak of nature!!!!

theres parts FLT builds and machines in -house... I kinda laugh when someone says they have a trans "identical" to one of FLTs level 5 builds.... Its almost like youre trying to justify not going and spending the money for the real thing...

Trever1t's trans has stayed together because its the real thing as did mine for 2 years behind some serious power and abuse... good thing you learned your lesson on aftermarket parts, it starts to become an expensive one quickly

The aftermarket 5 pins casing looks like the stock 4 pins but are not as strong. I will try and post some pictiures of each later today. I think i have a couple pics of the cheap ones on my pc some where and will have to make some of the OEM when at shop today

LOL We get these calls all the time as well. Just like a FLT! I think its funny when i hear it. Remember one thing a box of parts is what it is. The assembly by the builder and the special machined parts are what makes a FLT unit a FLT. We have recently added a new valve body modification to help the input sprag be stronger and also a billet piston for the input drum to make the level 4 and 5 units even stronger. For those of you that want even more.... billet input and output shafts are available. The new unit is being called a maximum performance build. Vince
