Default Ahh... yet another 4L60E rebuild

... but, hopefully, Red Eagle clutches will help prevent the ever-so-popular 3-4 clutch burn-up. I guess we'll see. I know, I know... why didn't I do that in the first place. Bought new blues already, and was anxious to ride. Only got me nearly 2000 miles before roastin' 'em at the track this past weekend. Oh well, ya live & ya learn.

Waiting on clutches, and will need to order the 46-Mod today or tomorrow. Vince, how fast can you ship that? I know the price of the kit. What's the total cost of shipment to 70816, with arrival by Wednesday, August 8th? Do ya accept PayPal?

For the time being... I found a package on my back porch today!

I'm keepin' the stock pan for future uninstalls/installs of this trans. That's just too damn pretty to mess up with scratches. I'll take a side-by-side comparison pick that'll show the differences from stock when I have the trans down. Waiting on trans jack to come home... MATT, where ya at, son?!?!?!

I'm also running red eagle clutches among other things. I just dropped my tranny off today at my builder so hopefully this will hold me for a while.

Well, here ya go...

Broke a 2000 mile old trans mount.

This rebuild won't be as in-depth as the previous on I did earlier this year. I may show where I drill a hole in the input drum to help the clutches get a good flush of fluid.

*edit*
In my original post, I asked about Paypal transactions with FLT... I just registered an account, and whaddayaknow... PAYPAL is primary source for online payment. I'm a doofus! Vince, I'll be ordering the 46-Mod next week. I won't be working on the trans for another week.

That pan sure is purdy.

You need a sticker that says my other car is a ricer if you're gonna show off that Acura key chain.

Acura keychain? That's actually the Acura switchblade key. The key's recessed in that pic. The actual keychain says Honda on it.

Those aren't the clutch's I would pick for it, but they may work for your truck. If you're burning up the 3-4's at your power level, I would have the pressure checked once you get it up and going again. Sounds like a programming issue or pressure in the trans issue. What other trans mods do you have done to it?

That's the one! You know it was cheap! Shipped fast too.

I'm sure pressure is an issue. One additional mod I am going with is the 46-mod. This'll definitely help. It's been recommended before, but I was too anxious to wait. Now, I'm paying attention. The past issues I've had were not related to the clutches. They were fine. I replaced them with in-kind for the sake of doing so while the trans was torn down. Which brings up the question of "what's the install orientation of the new clutches with regards to the additional hardware included in the Red Eagle kit?"

Other mods include kevlar 2-4 band, HD2, and Sonnax 2nd & 4th servos.

I'm waiting on my auto deposit to hit the stash account to order the 46-mod. Then, I'll log into FLT's website, and hit the checkout button.

Wife's at work, I'm home with the boys, I have them taking naps, and got some time to myself...

Clearly a clearance problem. I am almost certain I followed ATSGs max gap spec of .085"! You won't believe what the gap actually was. I guess I should've gone tighter. Interesting.
