Its all in the builder and the tricks they do to make it work. 80e is the best way to go but there are the few of us out there that just doesnt want to make that swap. just my .02
Your logic is only good when dealing with 3300lb and lighter cars. You try pushing that sort of power through a 60E in a truck and you have an expensive mess in short order.

So basically RPM is just lying to me when they say that their level 6 trans will last in my setup?
How much is their Level 6?
Im sure it would work for a lil while but its gonna suck when it breaks or burns.

Im not tryin to tell you to use a 4L80E, just letting you know theres a more reliable transmission you can use.

A 80E swap is alot cheaper than a built 60E haha..
Its a bunch of us that have figured that out, and they last so much longer.

They said 2800 shipped for a level 6 with a 90 day warranty.

I would do a 80e if I knew someone in MI that did it! What I've been told from a few ppl is it's gonna cost alot to do if I don't do it my self which I can't lol

AH! well that throws it all out the window..
If you have ever seen the internals of both transmissions you would know why we suggest the 80E for a truck with some power

I have something around $900 in my 80E including shift kit and a few extra parts to install it.

Not to hijack this thread, but I am in a similar situation as OP (although no mods) and in the regional area.

I found this article.........but we don't drive cars
How to Convert a GM 4L60E Transmission to a 4L65E - Car Craft Magazine

again, no disrespect to OP or others
