Wow that trans is clean. I tore mine down a year ago and still have it on the work bench! A lot has happened in the last year so I'm hoping I can finish my build here soon.. I'm in for pics and progress. Good luck!

Yeah, for his power goals he needs more than just refreshed clutches and other simple modifications. Billet input shaft maybe?

The stage 4 kit includes a master kit with High Energy frictions, new steels, bonded pistons, and additional friction for the direct. New rear band, front band, filter, full bushing kit, thrust washer kit, new improved boost valve and pressure regulator spring for additional pressure. New internal harness, shift solenoids, and pressure manifold switch. HD intermediate snap ring, rear torrington bearing, machined forward hub with torrington bearing, 34 element sprag billet input shaft billet rollerized forward hub and billet intermediate shaft

Yea I was surprised how clean the trans was myself I got it off a guy on facebook so I wasn't sure what to expect

Jake's stage 4 kit has been ordered! They said it will be about 2 weeks before i have it due to the lead time on the billet forward hub,input shaft and intermediate shaft. Kit comes with a tips and tricks install guide....i'm gonna need it!

1856 after taxes. Says its good for 1k hp which is around my goal with the 408 and s488

Ya those pictures look good, its pretty clean. 80E's historically are a bit dirtier then the 60's are. Nothing wrong with the fluid in those pics. Sounds like that build list should work good, did he mention anything about the 36 element sprag? Its a consideration at that power level, next time mine is out one is going in. The sprag takes a beating on the 1-2 shift.

You still on the 16 element sprag? Is the 36 that much stronger than the 34?
